Conversation With Coach

I was chatting with Balestier Khalsa FC head coach, Nasaruddin Jalil, 2days ago. Suprising, both of us were at the St. John first-aid refresher course, busy with tonnes of "kissing" and "hugging"!

In fact, I knew Coach Nasa since year 2001. That year I was playing for the formerly-known Balestier Central Utd FC in the Prime/S-League while Coach himself was coaching the COE U-16. I never train under Coach Nasa before but I know that he's definitely one of those nice coaches, modest and calm in all situation, out there in the local football scene.

Coach Nasa even joked, saying all the other S-League clubs should be careful. Do let his team beat theirs! Haha.. With the current squad, Coach knows that he has got nothing to lose. With the team currently 3rd from the bottom of the League table, Coach knows that the team just has to focus and play it's own game. Not for the top glory but at least for the fans who's there all these years I supposed.

Charlie Gathering

One by one, got settled down, finally. One of my best Army buddies, Xaevier, ended his bachelorhood last evening in a simple but yet beautiful wedding dinner. And a gathering for Charlie will only take place on this kind of occasion. The dinner table is always filled with laughter.

7years of friendships since Army bloody days, Xaevier has never got a very smooth love relationship. Just so glad that he's happily attached now.

Met up with Zhengrong and Hideaki too. Nowadays, Hideaki is the most busiest I supposed. With my current married status, I actually shared a piece of advice with "Yaki". If you really wanna have a career in the entertainment industry, be prepared to put your marriage on hold for the time being. Although I do not have a similar past experience, he agreed with me.

Jokes and Laughters really filled our table-14. I've listed out the jokes of the night..

1) While we're blue-toothing pics around via our mobiles, we came across a Blue-tooth's name, "My GF Shi Mei Nv"!! - Francis's Mobile (His gf forced her to put that). Hideaki's name is "Teriyaki Hideaki"!

2) Francis was trying to tell everyone that he's getting fatter. He proved himself right by forcing his head downwards to force his double chins!

3) Our table invited the groom over to take a photo. Actually we wanted him to take the photo for us instead! Haha!

Samba Brazil

Would you spend approximately S$5,000 on a trip to South America to explore a country where the people there would eat, sleep and shit football? Different people has different level of passion for certain thing. I'd give an answer, YES, to Brazil.

I am still in an initial phrase where I am trying to gather information on this country and the access to it. A backpacking trip to the South America is still in the planning process. Yifei is definitely a pal whom I want to be with me for this trip. For the record, this is a men's affair ya!
I'd expect this backpacking trip to the South America too complicated, or maybe dangerous, for a lady to participate.

This trip will not be a hush-hush planning one. Knowing that Dec-Feb is the tourism peak for Brazil, this trip will only be realistically materalized after Feb 2009. My trip to Europe is already confirmed in Sept 2008 so that goes my saving this year!

Here, I sincerely urge whoever is interested to sponsor this trip, please do not hesitate to contact me at 97683261. I can help you deliver DHL or UPS stuffs over there should there be any opportunity! Dear all, no drug or illegal delivery opportunities will be entertained.

Thank you!

Wedding Function

Both Joanne and I attended my Director's wedding. Guess what, the venue was at Suntec Ballroom! Kind of funny when I was sitting inside Ballroom cause that's where some of my events usually take place. Just like a mirror-image of a Suntec Dinner & Dance. Most of the guests were Suntecians.
The joyful occasion reflected how socialising and high-profiled the couple was. Among the guests, there're CEO of various companies in the MICE industry. Apparently, I once heard that there's a point where the Datuk of Johor is about to grace the dinner too! That's how "atas sikat" the dinner function was.
Dinner was great! My first time having a western-set dinner in a wedding function. Throughout the function, live-band touched the hearts of many by singing wonderful sendimental songs which brought back fond memories of the 90s. You know lah, wedding is always those few songs lor, just that the performers sang it live on stage throughout the night.
On off.. I was reminded of my own wedding function last Sept. I still preferred my way of doing at One Rochester, haha..

So Long

17 June 2003, I put my pen on my very first Agreement/Contract with Suntec Singapore. Today, 17 June 2008, I am celebrating my 5th Year Anniversary with Suntec Singapore.

Time flies. Freshly out from the school and army, I made a decision to follow my heart, devoted my time and energy to the job which at that time, I felt that it's the most wonderful job; F&B. Gradually my passion for the job brought me into the challenging MICE industry.

My journey in Suntec Singapore not only started in year 2003. To be exact, I was already roaming around in the Centre in green-batik uniform since late 1997. William was the one who recommended me to work in Suntec Singapore as a part-timer then. Subsequently Justin, Edwin, Hanyi and lots more from my High School joined in. Back then, my life was fun. Nothing worried me but just indulged myself in never-ending roti kaya spreading, plate clearing and a meal of Burger King after work at Shaw Tower. Those times working in Congress, Joaquim and Kopitiam was the most memorable.

Full-time job with the one of the Asian best Convention Centre is indeed a very challenging one. For one to go through the opening of an Outlet, raised through the rank and even went through the irony of Outlet Closing.. I stood out among the peers, I survived the retrenchment, I took control when I am called upon and eventually a transfer was arranged and I took it with pride.

Client Service job is tiring, working hours are extensive, emotionally I am hurt, the job responsibility has been affecting my personal life, and I hate to say this - the job is Stressful. BUT I kind of have a feeling for the job. I trust this job can build and enhance my character. It's kind of a OJT (On-Job-Training) stuff.

5th year has officially commenced. Looking forward to another great year.

Birthday

Count the Candles Juntanoski

Gifts on Me..

I knew the ladies were going to throw me a cake-cutting celebration in the office. I knew they would buy me a present. But I didn't expect the ladies to buy me a football!

This gift really reminds me of my Valentine gift which I've received from Joanne. I was shocked.
This year, I've got absolutely no plan for any celebration. Knowing that work is priority, I've got to put that 27 candles on-hold, answered the call of Suntec Singapore. Truth enough, JC is too kind, presented me with a task of crowd-controlling at PC Show 2008. Look at the positive side, I've gained valuable experience toying around with the "escalators"!

Adidas football, Adidas jacket, a stalk of Sunflower, a pen, well-scribbled Birthday card, numerous greeting sms-es and etc.. of all gifts received, a Fossil watch is my favourite. For the record, that is (once again) a token being presented by my lovely wife.

She's been longing to SPEND that money on a watch for me and she did it. I'd say she loves that Fossil more than me!
