JC Not Fair

JC has not been fair to one of my Life Components, Futbol.

I thought that today was the day where I can answer to my Soul, by allowing my new street-soccer shoes to taste some futbol action. Ya, got to enjoy the rare Sunday evening sunshine for merely 45mins and it's all over. JC had got the rain to spoilt the party! My body was just about to feel the Joga Bonito and it's done. Stay calm pal.. I'm utterly disappointed with the highly anticipated evening and swear that Year 2008 will be a better one!

Q&A of the Month:
Q) So did your new shoes get a bit darker after the futbol game? (Joanne)
A) Well, not really cause I've applied some sunblock lotion on them. (Jun)

Sungei Buloh Wetland Reserve

Tired of movies and luncheons in the City, Joanne and me decided to have an ususal Saturday yesterday. We went to one of those places where we always wanted to go. And we believe that with the festive season approaching, the place will not be crowded! True enough, we're the only few people spotted at Kranji, Sungei Buloh Wetland Reserve!

I've been there once back in my Secondary school days and for this trip, it was a positive memory rewind. The feeling was great except for a few drops of blood donation to the nature favourite friend, the mosquitos. Weather was good though, just enough for me to tann my body again.

Joanne and me were well-prepared for this trekking/hiking at the north-west. Both of us were in long pants, comfory sports shoes and all necessary ammenities like water, towels, sun-blocks, caps, sunglasses and etc. Our long anticipated outing was greeted with lots of adorable nature creatures like squirrels, monitor lizards, bees, butterflies and SNAKE!

Although Joanne has been longing to encounter some crocodiles, we're fortunate not to do so. Throughout the entire approximately 4km Walk, there have been signages of Crocodiles Area. To tell you the truth, my eyes had been scanning throughout the entire 4km walk! I am just worried that a crocodile or 5ft monitor lizard will walk into our path!
No crocodile was spotted but tonnes of unbelieveable huge monitor lizards were roaming around freely. One of them was spotted having a feast on a highly decomposed doggy! The smell of the corpse was aweful. I couldn't consume my lunch, Chicken Chop, without thinking of that scene (cum smell)!
Overall, the crocodiles-attacking worries and the scrotching sun on the sticky bodies were a good experience. It's a nice environment but I don't think that Joanne and me will patronise the place again so soon. Maybe the nest time round, I might want to arrange for a group of 5-6pax to roam, erm... nope, should say Explore the area thoroughly. The walking in the Reserve is the fun part! You will never know who's gonna say "Hi" to you on your front, back, left or right..
Cheers!

Family Outing

The journey up to the peak of Genting Highland reminds me of the movie, Initial-D. The curvy roads are just perfect for those drifting! I am always looking forward to this trip as my wife and me are inviting my in-law and my parents out oversea for the very first time. Objective for this short weekend getaway is simple; a simple outing for bonding.

Weather was good there at late Uncle Lim Goh Tong's area! Although it was drizzling all day, we still managed to capture a few great pics of the foggy land. Food was great. I think the pics attached speak all!!

Surprisingly, I met a couple of my Secondary school mates at the First World Hotel. They were there to support one of our former Secondary school mates, Mandy, who was participating in a Singing Competition. Well, ain't got any idea if she has won??

Hideaki was there at Genting as well. He was involved in Jolin Tsai's concert. We were supposed to meet up for a Starbucks but his tight schedule didn't permit us to meet up ya.

Basically, my in-law and parents were only interested in the Casino entertainment. Once you lost the sight of them, proceed straight to the Casino, BINGO! You will spot them! In fact, that's the only entertainment which we have over there. Even Joanne and me were indulging ourselves in the slot machines! For the record, both of us lost near S$150... haiz..

Now, life is back, I am planning for the next trip oversea. Joanne and me do wish to travel to Bangkok one of these days. Shall see how.... "I've got the Whole World.. in my Hand..."

Reservist

A heavy rain nearly ruined my morale of passing my IPPT on the first day of Reservist. Lucky me, the sky brighted up, the most-detested 2.4km run resumed and I managed to clock 10:56mins! I achieved a Silver. That means 200bucks!

For this short In-Camp training, we spent a cold and muddy outfield night at Amoy Quee Sada Field. Outfield training didn't kill us but that was enough to give us what we had missed out since we ORD in year 2003; damn f**king tired. Glad that everything was fine and smooth. Outfield was done for the tiredn and wet NS Unit by the very next day lunch.

Prior to this ICT, memories of my army days came flashing through my mind the night before booking in. I've always been delighted that I could go through the mandatory national service with this group of friends.

Vision for a Big Feca

Just last week, I managed to catch up with one of my best friend, Steve. Right at the Plaza Sing Starbucks, under the rhythm of the heavy rain, we talked about Feca FC.

Feca is our childhood/school-dayz football team. That team was established back in 1995. The captain then was the blogger here, that's me. Feca, this name, was pened by me as well. Currently, the team is still playing around actively. Due to my hectic working schedule, I am unable to commit myself to the team. Although I am not able to contribute as much as I can on the field, I do have a great and ambitious vision for Feca!

Ever since I've achieved my Asian Coaching Licence, I've always wanted to run a football team. My context of running a team is to create a semi-professional football system within the team. I'd gather a team of 20 players who will be able to make themselves available for every Sunday's game, if there's a need, I would love to secure a small sponsor who's willing to pay each and every single player a small allowance in order to create that sense of belonging.

* Co'mon, tell me who are paid in an amateur football league in Singapore?? *

Of course the key player will be paid slightly more than average. Let's say, the allowance payout will be ranged from S$30-S$50 per game! Should there be any additional budget, goal and assist incentives can be considered. With this budget, I can source for a great Striker for 50bucks per game!

Players in Feca will be entitled to a full Adidas wear. On top of that, we will have training wear, match-day wear and bags with personalised embroidery. If working schedule can be compromised, I'd love to hold weekly training for the team at a desired playable pitch. Somewhere in Hougang is prefered.

* Now, i am laughing right inside my heart... *

Maybe I should start writing a proposal to stand-by. Should there be any opportunity to live a dream as per what I've written, I'd make it a successful one.

Forza Feca!
