speech

speech of reassurance? speech for e future? speech for e new direction?

whatever you say, that is definitely one of e most crucial speech which took place during this period of time. a much more clearer picture has been painted out for those who has not been convinced. a heavier toned reminder for those who (convinced) thought that they have seen e clearer picture.

e impact of e speech might not come close to what senior minister mentor lee said during e last national day investiture, but for a ceo of just 2yrs in a near 14yrs-long organization to address such an issue as well as touching on e organization restructuring, i feel for him.

i'm not a noble guy. ain't no hero here. i won't go to a war if knowing that e chance of winning is near zero. however should i be in a battle-winning team which is used to winning, fighting.. why not?

i spent some of my most wonderful years at e establishment. i am still counting.

master e game

jack of all trades, master of none. ever since i bought myself a new toy set - golf set, im determine to master e elegant game. right after work this noon, joanne accompanied me to e driving range where i smacked away 108 balls with my iron-7.

e sunny weather did not help me with swing though. i am still unable to command adequate swing with correct posture. yes, e balls did fly but e same old thing over and over again; inconsistent. other seems to be hitting e ball well but it aint e same story here with me.

happened to meet one of my former secondary school mates while running my event yesterday. well, e feeling of catching up with old school mate is always good. we touched on our school dayz, school mates as well as football. among these topics, football is always one topic which is e happiest to talk about and it's also my most saddest topic to talk about too.

too tired to carry on...

present

e fairytale love story still unconditionally lives inside my heart. do not get me wrong, e presence of joanne in my life is by no mistake, it's simply forever e case of dreaming of a fairytale story which will repeat over and over again.

recently i managed to watch finished another short movie by hirosue ryoko. e story goes.. she got ditched by her bf of 8yrs, she cut her hair short and sent him a last gift on christmas.. well, a very short story indeed but e movie protrayed a very typical innocent relationship which one after watching, would be greatly affected emotionally.

maybe i think too much..

e tables in e living room, e flooring, e colour of e environment (if you know what i mean) - brownish, reminds me of my couple of stays in japan, especially in sagamihara. homely little feeling that touches e hearts of everyone. although i find that e ending could be more happier, e japanese script and e way of filming did enough to encourage a person like me to give it a second opinion.

a film from year 2006 deserved some credits, script wise.. no comment. no popcorn for action, 3.5 popcorns for romance and 4 popcorns for filming methods. forgot to mention, 5 popcorns for full marks.

pen off.

incredible week

e departures of some very good fellow colleagues can be greatly felt in centre this week. this is a closing of one's chapter while it's e commencement of e next.

for e past near 2 years, i've acquired a great working relationship with audie. although i may not have got a very good start with the old ah-beng, eventually we broke e atlantic ice to survive through some nasty events during my course of work.

forever-charming auntie-killer chef edmund needs no introduction in e centre. how do you describe our relationship where both his son and me bear e same name? always a mentor to look up to.

to audie and chef edmund, take care! we should be able to cross our path again in e near future.

so much happened this week. a week of non-stop action at work, finally came my one and only off day on sunday. ah-seng arranged for a jamming and of course im excited. ignored e usual sound control, blast e amp to max out e innocent enjoyment, scream your lung out, wooh... jamming is so fun! i love my my epiphone gibson les paul and my boss me-50.

lelong sales

while most of the people will be thrilled and excited when IT SHOW commences, there is one group of people who will be having headaches... suntec staffs.

look at e crowd in e centre, horr-ri-gii-ble...

i believe not only me, many would agree with me, singapore seems like recession-proof. buffet-like consumers flocked down to our small convention centre to practise small-quick step walking. during this period of havoc time in e centre, trolleys of printers and bravia tv can be seen transporting around. wonder why one needs so many printers and tv for what? every IT SHOW, PC SHOW or COMEX SHOW, i will notice that.

and also during this period, i noticed some of my colleagues have been transformed into another person. for example...

jonanthan becomes a laptop consultant. almost every few hours, i could hear him explaining, analyzing on all different brands and models of laptops. u know what, e funniest thing is that he don't buy laptops, he bought himself a digital camera!

claudia, cabell, sharon, christina and hongsheng all become brochures collectors.

for me, IT SHOW is one of those most boring events which has ever taken place in suntec. my attempt to grow an interest in those stuffs is not successful. maybe never will. i am curious on how am i going to run e PC SHOW in june??

it's a job after all. *headache*

kansai stay

get away from e hectic lifestyle in singapore, i packed my bag for another hectic city, osaka, with joanne. e trip was non-work related but city exploring. touched down at changi hours ago, even before that, while strolling down e streets at shinsaibashi yesterday, e home-calling reached my heart, it says break's over time to go home. i agreed.

although i've been to japan a couple of times before, my feel for this trip was never anywhere near how i felt previously. i am not as stubborn as before - maybe i've grown up.
i walked e streets with a peaceful mind. my only objective was to ensure joanne herself has got a great trip this time round. that was a reasonable target thus it did not bother me that much. just hope that joanne enjoyed herself.

as far as fashion is concerned, e japanese are really way ahead. my eyes were constantly zero-ing on e japanese hair-styling and mix-&-match dressing methods. as such, my fashion sense has been improved within this one week. sometimes it's not hard to understand why singaporeans are not dressing to a certain extent where we'd go woohhh. fashion's not leading the way, society perspective to be blamed? singaporeans need to put in extra and thicked-skin effort.

talk about shopping, it's indeed one of e most anticipated activities during this trip. short of saying those small items like badges and snacks, it took me a long time before i decided on a japan-made leather bag. it costed me near 120 sin-dollars but i love it very much. planning to get a yoshida porter-brand bag but every single bag of that brand costs a bomb. its only a bag for myself but i'm contented with my achievement. joanne has got e final laugh - she bought herself a pair of leather boots which costed more than 130 sin-dollars. practically e products, be it clothing or food, all have been over-priced. any simple dress will cost more than 100 bucks which i felt that similar amount of money could be more wisely spent.

not too sure why i'm writing this but i have to admit i've benefited a lot from this trip. not only physically but emotionally as well. i felt for e 1995 earthquake at kobe actual site and i also dressed up winterly for shinsaibashi and namba. there are still many more which are hard for me to express adequately here in e blog. well honestly, this one week stay in kansai has given me (or maybe joanne too) another reason to return to e land of rising sun. we did discuss, e next destination to japan probably be up to e freezing north. mata.

kobe trip

weather was good in kobe. we soaked into e 1995 tragedy at the meriken park and eventually we rounded up our kobe trip at e chinatown. before we left kobe, we treated ourselves to e famous kobe beef steak at harbourland! no football action in japan as j-league has yet to kick off, but WBC has been filling up all newspapers and of course with ichiro's face as e main report!

japan makan-sutra

to further improve our personal best - long distance covered for shopping, we enhanced our overall achievement with e great japanese food today. a comfortable train train ride up to kyoto this morning, although both of us overslept, we still make it a point to walk through nishiki market. shortly, we visited e great kiyomizudera temple. e ladies in kimono did in a way brought me back to e ancient dayz. a town which is rich in culture and history was amazing today. how to end e day?? shopping lor... back to shinsaibashi and namba!

03 March 2009

walk e streets

not sure how much distance i've covered today. at first we thought that its going to snow but eventually e one which came down was rain droplet - throughout e day. when e urge of shopping reached its climate, it would be just like today, dangerous cum serious economic saving exercise; shoppping! other than this expected yen-spending, i enjoyed walking through e streets. this is a trip so much different from previous few times when i was here, won't elaborate further but indeed i ensure joanne has got a great time here~

touch down

it's time to answer the call of my heart, proceed with my annual travelling. my fourth times to e land of raising sun. can't help but have to agree - japan is really my favourite country. i also thought states is e one though. long hours of travelling with double short transits at hongkong and taipei, finally touched down at kansai slightly earlier than expected. my rusty command of japanese was useful in a way or another. my research and planning were helpful too. arrived in osaka, filled our stomach with e first japanese meal, time to take a break, gonna be ready for our shopping tomorrow at shinsaibashi.
