Humble Adobe

Joanne warned me her name has to be mentioned in this write up, there you go.. Welcome to the Future House of Joanne and Jun! Yap, both of us made use of this sunny noon, travelled all the way down to Sengkang West to keep ourselves update on the status of our upcoming Fernvale Court flat.

Never did we expect that our flat is actually located very near to the Fernvale LRT station! Welcoming us by the station were well-known Food Court KouFu, some kinna established "mama" shops and a Pei Hwa Sec School. We are amazed by the pace at how these BTO buildings are going at. If there's a possibilty of moving in by late next year, Joanne and me are all set and ready! In fact, we're want to move in as early as possible! Of course that means less travellings and movies!! Ohhh.

Before ending this writing, I'd like to show you how our flat looks like. Level-22 is high but our anticipation is even higher! Once you're done with this reading, please save up some penny for our House-warming (in times to come)!!

Local Futbol Story

The 2 ladies, Desiree & Sharon from FAS cum Suntec Singapore. Both are hardworking ladies whom I've known since their Suntec outlet dayz! The sight of seeing them at Jalan Besar Stadium has been a norm these dayz. Carry on to grow with local futbol, sweeties!

I've got a great kicking session at Fico last night. Too bad that the night was kind of short as I really do hope that at least I could play till 1am! Beside successfully stringing some great passes, I've managed to score a couple of goals too. During the game, I did have the opportunity to share with TienSin on how to improve her game. Trust me, she's fine. She just need to improve her ball co-ordination.

Singapore 0 Australia 0. I did not have the luxury + luck to catch this game live but I do not required any explanation to know that Lions did not make the game any easier for the visitors! By the way, while by-passing the Nike outlet, I was attracted to a white T-shirt with the wording, "Singapore, 3 times ASEAN Champion". The design was simple but I have got a very strong feeling for it. Anybody gonna buy me one of that?? Haha!!

Educelogy Education Centre

Educelogy (pronounced as E-Duce-Logy) was official opened yesterday at Bugis. Cousin Huiyan finally has got one of her biggest wishes, be a tutor, come true! When I first heard that she's going to open a Tuition Centre with a couple of trustworthy friends, I am not surprised at all. That idea should have been in her mind for quite some time ya.

Many of us actually attended the Official Opening Ceremony and were treated to a Four Season buffet spread. As usual, I only care about the food!! Weather was warm but the aircondition of Educelogy managed to cool us down. Right after that, Joanne and I went straight home for a long-awaited home-cooked food at my place. Nevertheless, best wishes for Huiyan and Educelogy! For those who happen to read this, who happen to have relatives or friends who are looking for Secondary or JC tuition centre, please.. please contact me!

Harhour Front Wedding

At this age, I will be receiving lots of "Red Bombs" from my former classmates. Last evening, I attended one of my schooldays buddies' Big Occassion, William's Wedding, at Harbour Front. The wedding was kind of a simple traditional but meaningful. For me, I am truely touched and happy for the couple. To sum it up, the 9 courses dishes were the best of the night! Haha!

Table 16 was where Joanne and I seated. Together with us, there were Shirlene, Lawrence, Jennifer and 3 of William's night-class schoolmates. Bet you can imagine how much we've consumed with the fact that our table only seated 8pax!! I've poured 3 glasses of Red wine down my throat too!

Arena

Double-layer trussing setup, numerous intelligent-lightings, sound system, reverb and echo adjustment.. these were the things which I've take note uncontrollably during the Nori's Birthday Party at Arena last night!

The idea of having a gathering cum celebration at such a location was indeed happening (especially for me who seldom frequent those night-spots) but I do believe that the night could have been much much better if we gonna settled down at another venue. Here comes the "Speak the Truth Speaker"..

Firstly, the house music played was not crunching enough. I did move along with the music for the first 30mins but it all dried up before I noticed it. The music was not catchy enough to drag me out of my seat. Could the DJ having the Tuesday BLUE? The music sucks!

Occassionally, DJ would invite a couple of so-called Special Guests up to the stage for a song. I may not be there long but I was treated to some ear-drums therapy courtesy of two Drag-from-the-street-side singers; A Thailand lady who sang not too sure if it's an English song or a Thai? Another middle-eastern looking chap who dressed like a Punk who sang the most funniest "Somewhere I belong" which I've ever heard. Obviously Arena is somewhere they do not belonggg...

There's something wrong with the Sound system I supposed. We couldn't make out what the Thai lady was singing. Music was always covering the vocal part. At least the only consolation was that she's quite stunning especially with her curvy dance movement on stage. Worst was the chap. His vocal was Beckham-like and he could not hit the high notes at all. He's grasping for air after he jumped too much. I was about to call the ambulance for him though, haha!

Comments aside, I felt that the night was quite an eye-opener for me. For an old uncle like me, to be able to go Chiong at this age, was indeed enjoyable. Hope that Nori has got a memorable 28th Birthday celebration. Just forget about that Linkin Park song..

Wu Bai & China Blue

Should there be any activity which involve a well-known artist, normally he or she will not be involved in the pre-setup arrangement. I've been allocated to run Taiwanese Rocker, Wu Bai & The China Blue concert in April. Yesterday, despite knowing that Suntec will be flooded with near 40,000 IT Show consumers, he specially requested to come down for a site visit. Mind you, it's all Last Minute!

Wu Bai, was in town to attend a Press Conference for his upcoming concert. As we're unable to allow his car to go all the way up to Level-6 loading bay, they had to alight at the front porch. Scorpio East Rep - Khee Li called and I was there to lead the artist and his crew up to Level-6.

Throughout the entire movement in and out of Centre, Wu Bai had a overhead-hook sweater on and thus, no one could recognize him except for a couple of youngster at Level-6. The only time he displayed his neatly highlighted shoulder-length hair was the moment we stepped into the lift. From the moment I saw him stepped out of his Combi Car, he was snapping photos all over Suntec with his disposable-like black camera. That's the kind of camera which we're not using anymore, at least not in this piece of island. Be it on the escalators, aiming at the crowd, inside the lift, he clearly expressed his passion for aimless photo-shooting! According to his agent, Wu Bai loves photo-shooting!

45mins of site visit cum discussion, I have never spoken to the artist at all. Except for the very first sight at the lobby, both of us exchanged a polite smile, other than that, we didn't have any other interaction. Couldn't imagine me going up to the artist, pass him my namecard," Hi, Jun from Suntec!" Wu Bai replies,"Hi, My name is Wu Bai!" ?? Doesn't make sense at all. Hey well, I did notice his pinky-flowery Nike shoes though. Afterall, these artists are a bunch of pathetic human beings who can't fall in love, can't do any shopping in the public and can't mingle around as much as they love to.

Admit the Fact

I had a meal with one of my Japanese football friends yesterday evening. Before I proceed to write about how she feels about our local football, I have to convince everyone out there that she simply has the right to express her view on our local football. Why? Well, she's an amatuer footballer here with the NYPGA team, she used to play futsal back in Japan, and currently she's one of the staff of the S-League teams, Albirex Niigata FC!

I am deeply saddened by her innocent but factful comment on our local football scene. I've actually asked what she thinks about our football here as this is already her 4th year living in Singapore. She said Singapore football is still in those very early developing stage where the Japanese J-League has already grown up. She added.. All Japanese players in Singapore are aware why Singapore couldn't succeed. Japanese all know the answer and Singapore knows the answer too but we just wouldn't want to change. Before the answer was revealed, I got it; the answer is mentality.

I wouldn't want to elaborate much on that "Mentality" issue. I will never have sufficient time and space to write them all out! Call me separately if you're really interested in knowing that.

My friend made me admit some facts which I always never want to admit in front of "gaijin". By listening to her explanation (comments), I can only feel embarassed and helpless. Someone gonna pull me out of that mood..

Singapore Biathlon 2008 - Mission Accomplished

Registration, collected my swim cap, did my body markings, did some competition route orientation and lastly some light stretching before I finally stand-by at the flag-off area at 0830 hrs.

Air-horn sounded, off 300 odds of competitors (my catergory) jumped into the icy sea, started to complete the first 1.5km swim. Weather started to drizzle. Joanne gonna find some shelter under the rain. For your info, she's my one and only supporter today!! (Thanks dear!)

I was kicked and punched in the sea! Every competitor was doing their best to outswim each other, me no different. For this salty swim, it was much easier than I expected. Well, I supposed my personal training helped. When I was participating in the Fina Open Swim in 2006, I constantly had to keep a lookout for Danger-Floating Coconuts. This time round, no major floating assault from the sea, but as usual the current was never kind. The distance was longer. The challenge was bigger.

Joanne was panicked when she started seeing others getting out of the sea at the Transit Area but I was no where to be found. At 39mins, I got out of the deep sea. Headed straight to the Transit Area. Goshh.. I couldn't find my shoes, haha! Near 20seconds were wasted on FINDING SHOES.

Normally during my swimming training, I tried not to use too much of my legs so as to preserve the strength for the run right after that. Due to the strong current and overtaking tactics, I used up lots of my kicking strength in the sea. I was feeling kind of "cramp" when I started my 10km run. Well, once the momentumn kicked-in, off I gooooo!!

By the time the adrenaline was pumped into my heart and brain, the weather did me a BIG favor; it started to rain. I do noticed that sunny weather is never my performing day. Today was great! I never felt the fatigue until the last 1km. Rain was heavier, legs were even more heavier.

Long anticipated Biathlon was over in 1hr39mins. This is my personal best record up to date! Previous record was set last month which was 7mins more. Throughout this entire Biathlon, in fact right from the start, the devil was never around on my mind. With that mentality, I thought I've won half of the race. I didn't turn back to see how many people were behind me. I didn't care how much people were in front of me. I only know that there's only one person who I'm gonna to beat; that's me.

I've brought myself up to another higher level; a level where I've conquered my mind and my body. Immediately I am thinking of my next challenge. Before I set my mind on the very next challenge, it's best for me to reflect on my past 2months preparation prior to this competition.

I might not be the very last lot to finish this race, but I was proud that I've managed to push myself to this stage. In the absence of all others, I had bulit a stage on my own and proudly waving to the people who have been supportive for the past 2months. Thank you! I love you guys!

9189.. 4D anyone??

Deep thoughts after the race.. Reflecting on all things which had come to a halt this morning.
