Double-layer trussing setup, numerous intelligent-lightings, sound system, reverb and echo adjustment.. these were the things which I've take note uncontrollably during the Nori's Birthday Party at Arena last night!
The idea of having a gathering cum celebration at such a location was indeed happening (especially for me who seldom frequent those night-spots) but I do believe that the night could have been much much better if we gonna settled down at another venue. Here comes the "Speak the Truth Speaker"..
Firstly, the house music played was not crunching enough. I did move along with the music for the first 30mins but it all dried up before I noticed it. The music was not catchy enough to drag me out of my seat. Could the DJ having the Tuesday BLUE? The music sucks!
Occassionally, DJ would invite a couple of so-called Special Guests up to the stage for a song. I may not be there long but I was treated to some ear-drums therapy courtesy of two Drag-from-the-street-side singers; A Thailand lady who sang not too sure if it's an English song or a Thai? Another middle-eastern looking chap who dressed like a Punk who sang the most funniest "Somewhere I belong" which I've ever heard. Obviously Arena is somewhere they do not belonggg...
There's something wrong with the Sound system I supposed. We couldn't make out what the Thai lady was singing. Music was always covering the vocal part. At least the only consolation was that she's quite stunning especially with her curvy dance movement on stage. Worst was the chap. His vocal was Beckham-like and he could not hit the high notes at all. He's grasping for air after he jumped too much. I was about to call the ambulance for him though, haha!
Comments aside, I felt that the night was quite an eye-opener for me. For an old uncle like me, to be able to go Chiong at this age, was indeed enjoyable. Hope that Nori has got a memorable 28th Birthday celebration. Just forget about that Linkin Park song..
