Late evening, a tanned, muscular-looking young man in white polo-T, sitting at the bus-stop, caught my attention. Gosh.. no wonder I find him so familiar! He's Zhiwei! My long lost friend sia!
Well, I almost lost this friend of mine few months back. Zhiwei was involved in that fateful Team Singapore Dragon Boat tragedy where a couple of our National rower died. Time heals the wound. He has since recovered from the pain and living well.
Just a couple of minutes, we chatted like we've not been meeting up for the past 10 years! We talked about the Dragon Boat stuffs, we talked about Steve and Rick, we talked about Feca, we talked about futbol, we talked about his life-span as a Sportsman. What was it with the life-span of a sportsman? My explanation to him (or to others) is.. Once you're done with your full-time studying, you're almost done with your sports UNLESS you're leading a professional sportsman career. Trust me, as much as I want to prove myself wrong, it's a sad truth.
Once you're out to the working society, you will never be able to focus or commit as much as you want to the sport which was once your highest priority. That turning point of life will see your priorities being switched or amended. That doesn't mean a definite cons. Eventually, you're the one who's making the decision. Trust nobody but yourself. Sportsman will know when to let go...
CNY is boring. Staying at home for the blog might worth my limited energy. Cheers!
