Ask yourself, if you've got Stephen Ng (90s Singapore GK) at the goal, Steven Tan (90s Singapore Super-Sub) and Lee ManHon (90s Singapore Wonder-kid) at the midfield, Samawira Basri (90s Singapore striker) and Ang BangHeng (current Balestier GK) as strikers, wouldn't it be a perfect dream team in amateur weekend kick-about?
Tell me about it. I was playing in the team last evening with all these great players!
Stephen passed me the ball, I turned and passed it to Steven Tan. He dribbled past an opponent with pace, laid it to Manhon. With his wicked leftie, curved the ball to the path of running Samawira. Wira held his breath, beat the GK and scored. JUST SO EASY...
I've lost count of the goals we had scored. It's 8-1 or 9-1 I supposed. I didn't have the luxury of playing the entire full game but I did have a couple of assists in the first few goals.
I enjoyed playing a full pitch football. What made it more interesting are the players who are sharing their style and experiences on the pitch with you! At one point, Steven Tan was telling me where to run after a certain pass. Wooh.. I thought that was cool.
Maybe I should join Team Akashi more often to enjoy the kind of football which I've been craving for, the kind of football which I've been missing out for quite awhile.
